Drunk veterinary nurse in flight chaos goes free
A WOMAN who was branded ‘every passenger’s worst nightmare’ after she caused chaos on a plane has been spared jail.
Katherine Heyes, 29, was abusive to crew and passengers on a Thomas Cook flight from Manchester to the Turkish resort of Antalya, a court heard.
The veterinary nurse, of Wigan, became ‘hysterical’ after she and two pals drank a bottle of vodka on the flight on May 18 last year.
She admitted being drunk on an airplane at Manchester’s Minshull Street crown court.
Handing Heyes a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work, judge John Edwards told her: ‘You should be ashamed.’
