Two arrests after boy, 13, dies in hit-and-run

A TEENAGE boy has died after a hit-and-run collision.

A Jaguar is believed to have struck Jack Worwood, 13, who was walking along the pavement in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, on Tuesday. He died in hospital from his injuries.

Police said a 15-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.

‘This is devastating news and our thoughts are wholeheartedly with Jack’s family as they struggle to come to terms with what has happened,’ said Sgt Darren Hancock. ‘We are determined to find them the answers they deserve.’
