Drunk on reopening

-

■ I was dreading pubs reopening and I was right to do so. I live on the outskirts of an area with a lot of them and by 3.30pm on Saturday, young men and women were so drunk you would think the pandemic was over – and it got worse as the night rolled on.

So few younger people maintain social distancing but now it is fortysomethings too. These things should be made law and the police and Army made to enforce them.

■ I was glad to have a haircut, get a takeaway and a beer, just like the old days. I’m just sorry so many businesses have closed. We need to do the tricky thing of boosting our economy while staying within the guidelines. Brave Dave, Dover
