Lust post! Mail boss resigns over prostitute boast gaffe
THE finance director of Spain’s postal service has resigned after boasting on WhatsApp about negotiating a moneysaving deal – with a prostitute.
Roberto Ducay was caught out after sending a photograph of a woman in the shower to members of a messaging group for the Spanish association of directors, with the words: ‘Today’s catch, spectacular.’
He then posted a second screengrab of a conversation with the sex worker. It started with her saying she would charge €200 to visit, along with mesby
sages apparently sent by himself reading: ‘It’s not what we agreed.
‘You come to me and it’s 150 euros full stop. I’ve got three who could come for 130 euros but I don’t want them.’
The unidentified woman replied: ‘Vale voy’ – meaning: ‘OK, I’m coming.’
Mr Ducay (pictured) was appointed director of finance and expansion at Correos – Spain’s equivalent of Royal Mail – in November 2018.
He quit after the sceengrabs were made public by Spanish newspaper ABC. It was not clear if he sent his messages to the wrong group by mistake.
Juan Carlos Gallego, president of the Madrid board of the Spanish association of directors, reacted to Mr Ducay’s posts by removing him from their WhatsApp group ahead of his resignation.
He told fellow members:
‘I’m sorry such a regrettable incident has happened and obliged us to take such a drastic step as this.’
Mr Ducay spent 12 years working for Arthur Andersen-Deloitte before joining Correos.
Last year, when asked where the company would be in 2025, he said: ‘We will be a much more multinational firm and have more presence in more regions and countries around the world.’
