Meighan ‘sorry’ for assaulting his partner
THE girlfriend assaulted by former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan is standing by her man after he completed rehab to curb his anger issues and alcohol addiction.
The 39-year-old singer was sentenced to carry out 200 hours’ community work by Leicester magistrates on Tuesday, after he admitted assaulting his partner Vikki Ager [pictured].
Revealing that he left rehab three weeks ago, and that Ms Ager was standing by him, Meighan apologised for his behaviour on Twitter yesterday, saying this was a ‘wake-up call’ having ‘struggled for many years with alcohol addiction’. He added: ‘Vikki & I hope to be able to move on from this as a stronger couple. I hope in time you can forgive me.’

Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani went to a hotel in the city on Tuesday for what he believed to be an interview about the pandemic, he told the New York Post’s Page Six. It all seemed above board as he met a female presenter – but then a bearded man rushed in wearing ‘a crazy pink transgender outfit’. Mr Giuliani, 76, added: ‘It was a pink bikini, with lace, underneath a translucent mesh top. I thought this must be a scam, so I reported it to the police. He ran away.’ Officers did attend but the Borat star, 48, was not apprehended. Baron Cohen and the NYPD declined to comment.
