Meighan ‘sorry’ for assaulting his part­ner

THE girl­friend as­saulted by for­mer Kasabian front­man Tom Meighan is stand­ing by her man af­ter he com­pleted re­hab to curb his anger is­sues and al­co­hol ad­dic­tion.

The 39-year-old singer was sen­tenced to carry out 200 hours’ com­mu­nity work by Le­ices­ter mag­is­trates on Tues­day, af­ter he ad­mit­ted assaulting his part­ner Vikki Ager [pic­tured].

Re­veal­ing that he left re­hab three weeks ago, and that Ms Ager was stand­ing by him, Meighan apol­o­gised for his be­hav­iour on Twit­ter yes­ter­day, say­ing this was a ‘wake-up call’ hav­ing ‘strug­gled for many years with al­co­hol ad­dic­tion’. He added: ‘Vikki & I hope to be able to move on from this as a stronger cou­ple. I hope in time you can for­give me.’
