1,200-year-old pet cat really is somefang else
HUMANS have been spoiling their pets for hundreds of years – as this skeleton of a toothless cat from 800AD reveals.
The remains, found in Kazakhstan, showed it was properly buried and had been fed a high-protein diet, which accounted for its missing fangs.
Dr Ashleigh Haruda, of Martin Luther University in Germany, said it was ‘remarkable’ the cat was looked after in 800AD, as scientists thought pets were not kept in Asia until much later.
