We meet the celebs who want to join you on Zoom
IF YOU fancy interacting with a celebrity, whether picking their brains or simply spending a few minutes in their company via Zoom, a new platform is here to help you connect. SocialEyes is a logical, interactive, progression from paying them for a pre-recorded shout-out – such as you get with CelebVM and Cameo – and there are several options available.
For example, you could have a £1,000 Bakealong with EastEnders actor Patsy Palmer (she’s also doing DJ and mindful meditation sessions) or get Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boom to DJ your event (£300 for an hour).
You could also join comedian Josie Long for a ‘silly, interactive show where everyone in the room makes friends’ (£17.50) or spend 45 minutes talking to Outlander actor Lauren Lyle about her life and career (£500).
The SocialEyes ‘hang outs’, which involve five-minute video chats with well-known people, include Matt King (Superhans from Peep Show, £155), Coronation Street and Emmerdale’s Gaynor Faye (£65) and X Factor’s Jack Remmington (£55).
And if you’re feeling festive, Rufus Hound is hosting an interactive Christmas quiz at £15 per team.
Many of the celebrities taking part will have lost work and income during the pandemic, and all will donate at least part of their payment to good causes.
And with an eye on the festive season, SocialEyes is also selling physical Christmas cards that double up as vouchers for interactive shows – how about that for a Christmas office party surprise.
