Corbyn troll spared prison for second wave of abuse

-

A SERIAL troll who twice bombarded Labour figures with anti-Semitic abuse supporting Jeremy Corbyn wept with relief as he was spared jail again.

Nicholas Nelson, 31, left a voicemail for Labour peer John Mann – the government’s anti-Semitism tsar – saying: ‘When are you going to do something useful and kill yourself? When are you going to have a stroke?’

He emailed MP Louise Ellman – who later quit the party after

55 years over abuse – calling her a ‘hypocritical Tory c*** for trying to smear Corbyn’.

He said she should resign or commit ‘ritual Japanese suicide’. An aide who opened it said he was ‘deeply unsettled’.

He called MP Margaret Hodge’s office saying she was an ‘apartheid-supporting scumbag b****’. In an impact statement, Mrs Hodge, 76, said: ‘I felt disturbed by the vitriol of the implied threats.’

Nelson, 31, of North Walsham, Norfolk – said to have an emotional instability personality disorder – apologised in court and said he was ashamed. He admitted three counts of sending offensive communications and got 30 weeks’ jail suspended for 18 months. The offences took place before Nelson (pictured) was sentenced in December 2018 for trolling Labour MPs Luciana Berger and Ruth Smeeth. Magistrate Tan Ikram, who presided over both cases, called Nelson’s words ‘the most vulgar obscene threatening vocabulary I can think of. Had I known of these offences at the time I would not have suspended a prison sentence’.
