Dentist ‘slept with patient after Savoy meal’

-

A HARLEY Street dentist to the stars had sex with a patient after taking her out to dinner at The Savoy, a professional panel was told.

Dr Sahil Patel gave the woman a final session of veneer treatment hours before their date last November, the General Dental Council tribunal heard.

At the exclusive central London hotel, they allegedly carried on drinking until after midnight, when the dentist is said to have told the patient he could not get home as the London Underground had stopped running. They then went across the street to the hotel where she was staying and had sex, the panel heard.

Dr Patel is said to have referred to the woman as a ‘Jewish princess’.

The disciplinary hearing is being held in Marylebone, near The Harley Street Smile Clinic, where Dr Patel is an associate dentist.

It lists former Everton and Scotland striker Andy Gray among its clients, along with Towie stars such as Lauren Pope, James Lock, Frankie Essex and Kirk Norcross. The charges against Dr

Patel say his actions were ‘sexually motivated’ and he could face a ban if the panel finds his ‘fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct’.

The dentist, who had allegedly met the woman twice previously for drinks at a pub, admits he slept with her but argues she was not a patient because her treatment had ended.

He denies telling her he could not get home, and calling her a ‘Jewish Princess’. The hearing continues, with some of the woman’s evidence due to be heard in private.
