FAMILIES PAY £25 TO SEE TWO REINDEER AND SKINNY SANTA CLAUS WITH DODGY BEARD
FAMILIES who paid £25 for a drivethrough North Pole Experience claim they found only one cabin, two reindeer – and a skinny Santa with a ‘questionable outfit’ and dodgy beard.
Dad Ashley Martin, who drove from north Wales, said: ‘Where do we start? Drove in to get stopped by a happy elf for us to follow to next scene where poor Santa was – more meat on a rack of ribs.
‘We had the window down. Santa spoke to our son in Santa voice, then changed his accent back to normal to tell him to put the window up.
‘Get sprayed by naughty elf which was the same elf that met us before.’
The ‘wonderful snowy landscape’ was just soap foam, he added.
A mum said: ‘For £25 it was shocking. Even my three-year-old mentioned Santa had a black beard. The outfit was quite questionable.
‘It also wasn’t really a drive through. It was a park up and kind of walk between the two reindeer and the tunnel where Santa was.’
Another wrote online: ‘Staff were enthusiastic, but the Santa wasn’t very good at all. Me and my partner were joking about how it was a bit like when Nessa dresses as Santa in Gavin and Stacey. It was just disappointing.’
Some did enjoy the show in a car park at Miles Platting, Manchester. Mum Catherine Rainey posted: ‘Had quite a long time with Santa and reindeer. The girls were really chatty.’
Organiser Mike Vaughan said the event was installed ‘last minute’ after lockdown and thieves had struck.
‘Dealing with the general public, you’re always going to get this,’ he said. ‘It’s one of those things.’
He insisted there were more than nine reindeer if you include pictures.
‘It was never said there would be nine live reindeer. Maybe we’re at fault. But it’s parents complaining – not the kids.’
