Moore quits Donny for Hillsborough
DARREN MOORE has left Doncaster to become the new manager of Sheffield Wednesday.
The 46-year-old, who had been in charge of Rovers since July 2019, succeeds Tony Pulis following his dismissal in December, with Neil Thompson having been in interim charge for the intervening period.
Moore, who will be at the helm for tomorrow’s visit of Rotherham, joins a side second bottom of the Championship, six points from safety.
BARCELONA say they have been fully cooperating with authorities after Spanish police yesterday conducted a search of the club’s offices.
The raid at the Nou Camp was part of an ongoing investigation and has resulted in several arrests.
The case, dubbed ‘Barcagate’, is said to relate to allegations club officials hired a company to attack certain people associated with it on social media. Barcelona deny any wrongdoing.
ONE of horse racing’s leading trainers says he will spend the rest of his life paying for the ‘indefensible moment of madness’ which has seen him banned from saddling runners in Britain.
Gordon Elliott has faced widespread condemnation after a picture surfaced of him sitting on a dead horse at his yard in Ireland.
An investigation has been launched by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board and the British Horseracing Authority says Elliott’s horses will not be permitted to enter races in Britain until that probe is complete.
Speaking last night, the Grand National winning trainer told the Racing Post: ‘It is indefensible. Whether alive or dead, the horse was entitled to dignity. A moment of madness I am going to have to spend the rest of my life paying for. I just hope people can understand how truly sorry I am and find some way to forgive me for what I have done.’
