ADELE must be feeling in the P!nk... after beating the US singer to be named the best-selling female album artist of the century. And A her 2011 album 21, which sold nearly 6million copies in the UK, was the best-selling record by a woman, according to the British Phonographic Institute (BPI).

The T Londoner, 32, has not released a record since 25 in 2015 – but last year confirmed she was working on new music, telling US show Saturday Night Live: ‘My album is not finished.’ P!nk came second to the Hello singer in the BPI rankings – followed by Madonna, Rihanna, Dido and Amy Winehouse.

In response to Louise, I also suffer from these endless scam calls (MetroTalk, Wed) and, as an old man of 85, I can do without hauling myself to the phone to answer them. In the past I’ve taken the offender’s number and reported the call to the firms they claim to represent, Amazon being the chief one, But nothing has been done to restrict them.

I’ve now taken to verbally abusing the caller when the message has ended, using bad language as a last resort, in the hope that they would take me to court for this and if this happened I could publicly denounce them. Sadly, these people seem to be aware of my intention and do nothing to curb my abuse.
