Whichever way you spin it, Campbell did the right thing here!
Well done, Alastair Campbell, for challenging the litter lout and throwing the rubbish he had tossed away back into his car, even though it led to him being punched in the back (Metro, Fri).
I had a similar experience many years ago. The yob told me that if I was 20 years younger, he would have hit me. My retort was that if I was 20 years younger, I would have hit him!

Well done, Alastair. While
I don’t believe in your politics
I certainly can agree with your actions here.
Isn’t it just the measure of some people today? No respect at all for people or for the environment they live in. And they always revert to lashing out. They should have been arrested.
Gordon, Staines-Upon-Thames
Alastair Campbell, you have made me smile this morning. If more of us tackled ignorant litter louts, the message might be heard. I support your actions and regularly do similar. Grace, London
Fair play to you, Alastair, you’ve got guts. Why should that creep destroy your fabulous city? I love London. Best city on earth.
A summer’s night, and a car with an open roof and loud music blaring out
A BOY of two who had a tumour the size of a satsuma on his brain would have died in just a few days without surgery, doctors said.
Kasper McMullen’s head swelled and he suddenly lost his appetite in January last year. But it was put down to a ‘viral bug’ by medics.
However, six months later he began to struggle getting about and parents Paul, 38, and Emma, 36, decided to take him to hospital.
A CT scan at Leeds General Infirmary showed the then 18month-old had an ependymoma brain tumour, which grows on the spinal cord at the back of the brain.
Surgeons carried out an emergency op to drain fluids – then a few days later spent 14 hours removing a tumour. Tests showed 99 per cent was removed. Kasper’s chances of recovery are good.
Mr McMullen, from Leeds, said: ‘Doctors told us that he had only two to three days. So we’re urging families to look into the signs. If you feel there’s something wrong, keep pushing.
The dad-of-three added: ‘If we hadn’t brought him in, he wouldn’t be here now. It’s so scary but he’s still here and he’s still fighting.’
