The case against: It’s a ‘disgraceful betrayal’ of The Firm, rages Piers

-

PIERS MORGAN used both Twitter and Good Morning Britain to attack ‘shameful’ Prince Harry following the Oprah tell-all.

He described it as a ‘disgraceful betrayal’ of the Queen and the royal family, adding: ‘I expect all this vile destructive self-serving nonsense from Meghan Markle – but for Harry to let her take down his family and the monarchy like this is shameful.

‘Harry wants America and the rest of the world to hate his own family, hate the monarchy, hate his country.

‘I suggest everyone waits for the victims of his wife’s rampage to have their say on her outlandish claims before they do so. I wouldn’t believe Meghan Markle if she gave me a weather report.

‘Prince Harry and his wife just spent two hours trashing everything the Queen stands for and has worked so hard to maintain, whilst pretending to support her.

‘And they did it while her 99-yearold husband (Prince) Philip is seriously ill in hospital. It’s contemptible.’

The 55-year-old TV host (pictured), said Meghan’s portrayal of the royal family ‘as a bunch of racists’ was ‘the most incendiary charge I’ve seen in my career’.

He told GMB viewers: ‘I’m angry to the point of boiling over. I’m sickened by what I’ve just seen.

‘This is a two-hour trash-athon of our monarchy. They basically make out everybody in the royal family is a white supremacist. I just don’t think that’s acceptable.’

The Sussexes also came under fire from ex-Fox News host Megyn Kelly. The 50-year-old, speaking to ITV from New York, said: ‘What I saw was somebody who is completely unaware of how she sounded. Like, “I wasn’t planning on saying anything shocking, except for my husband’s racist family almost drove me to suicidal thoughts while I was pregnant”.’ She then added, “And I thought meeting the Queen was going to be like meeting a celebrity... like Kris Jenner.” Nobody believes that’.

SYRIAN president Bashar alAssad, 55, and wife Asma, 45, are isolating at home after testing positive for coronavirus. They took tests after minor symptoms but are in ‘good health and stable condition’ says his office. Around 1,000 people have died of Covid in Syria – although official figures are said to hugely underplay the toll. Some 400,000 have been killed in a ten-year civil war.

WOMEN and children were among a group of migrants brought ashore in Dover yesterday. The Home Office has not confirmed how many migrants made it to the UK, but more than 650 people have risked the Channel crossing in small boats so far this year.
