MORGAN DISMISSES BERESFORD AS A STAND-IN AND SAYS REID DISAPPOINT­ED HIM

PIERS MORGAN has had a dig at his former Good Morning Britain co-hosts following his acrimoniou­s departure from the ITV show last month.

The 56-year-old said he was ‘disappoint­ed’ with fellow presenter Susanna Reid and dismissed Alex Beresford (pictured) as a ‘stand-in weather guy’.

But speaking to controvers­ial rightwing Fox News host Tucker Carlson, he said he had been right about the Oprah interview as 17 claims made by the couple had been ‘proven to be either completely untrue, or massively exaggerate­d, or unprovable’.

Morgan said Beresford is ‘not a journalist’. Asked about Reid apologisin­g for his comments, he said: ‘I was disappoint­ed, but she might have done it in the grip of fear.’
