Strictly for the Birds: Liam won’t tune in to Noel’s Radio X show

IAM GALLAGHER would rather ‘listen to James Blunt doing grime’ than tune in to his brother Noel’s new radio show. Liam reopened their 12-year slanging match with some brutal putdowns after it was revealed Noel will present a night-time show on Sundays for Radio X.

Asked by a fan on Twitter what he makes of the career move, the 48-year-old Oasis frontman replied: ‘He might as well as his musics s**** it keeps me up all night.’

When another wondered: ‘Liam will you be listening to Noels new radio slot?????’ the Shock Of The Lightning singer quipped: ‘I’d rather listen to James Blunt doing grime.’ Although Noel has ruled out any Oasis reunion, Liam was asked if he would tour with his big brother again by someone who posted: ‘If Oasis did reunite and go on tour, would you travel on a tour bus and share said tour bus with Noel?’ Liam joked: ‘Yeah and the same bunk bad bro’s 4 life.’

Noel, 54, will kick off his Radio X residency this Sunday at 7pm, alongside his friend and comedy writer Matt Morgan.

He said: ‘You lucky little indie kids are getting the pleasure of mine and the thinking man’s fuddy-duddy Matt Morgan’s company for a residency.

‘You’ll be hearing some great tunes and a lot of nonsense being spouted mostly by me! Tune in... you might learn summat.’

Matt Deverson, managing editor of Radio X, said: ‘Whether it be through Oasis or his High Flying Birds, Noel Gallagher’s music is part of the fabric of Radio X, and I’m delighted the man himself will be hosting a show.’
