WEARING A CORSET WAS AN EDUCATION

BRIDGERTON’S UNDIES CHANGED MY BODY SHAPE, REVEALS SIMONE

- DAMIAN

HE’S had her Sex Education – and now Simone Ashley is learning another set of skills as she saddles up for a role ono Bridgerton. The British actress, 26, who is best known for playing Olivia Hanan in the teen hit, has bagged one of the biggest parts on television as the Regency drama’s main love interest Kate Sharma.

And she’s had plenty to learn to become a high society lady.

‘It’s much more intense than Sex Education in the sense that if I’m not filfilming, I’m horse riding, training or in rehearsals,’ she told Wonderland.

‘I’m in accent training or I’m in a fitting… fifififit I’ve never really worn a corset before so that took some getting used to. My body definitely changed a little bit wearing it and that kind of changed my posture a lot to suit the era.

‘Horse riding... I’ve never really ridden before. I rode once, years ago, bubut I did some intense training for ththat and it turns out I’m a natural at it so that’s a great thing!’

The trailer for Bridgerton’s season twtwo, released this weekend by NNetflix, showed Simone giving JoJonathan Bailey’s Anthony BrBridgerton a deserved dressing down. And although Kate has a feisty side, Simone believes she’ll still be relatable for viewers.

She shared: ‘A lot of the time, people who do have those traits – quite fiery, have a temper, have a raised voice – are actually people with the biggest hearts, because there’s work to be done on how you express yourself. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing.’

And although this will be the biggest show of her young career, Simone is full of confidence, declaring: ‘I always knew this is what I was meant to be doing.’ Read more in the latest issue of Wonderland, available now at wonderlandshop.com.
