Heath to take on Albion in the cup

-

Haywards Heath have landed the No1 plum tie in the second round of the Sussex Senior Cup.

Shaun Saunders’ men will get to test themselves against Brighton and Hove Albion’s under-23s.

It should be a cracking tie as the in-form Blues take on some of the Premier League club’s promising youngsters.

Also at home in round two are Burgess Hill Town, who will face their Isthmian south east rivals Hastings United.

Other ties of interest include East Grinstead v Bognor, a battle between two teams from different divisions of the Isthmian League, and Crawley Town v Lancing.

The last 32 of the competition will be played in the next couple of weeks and is the first stage at which Sussex’s bigger teams join in.

The draw was broadcast by BBC Radio Sussex on Saturday with Paul Baston, Sussex FA finance manager, drawing the home teams and Paul Jeffery, operations manager, drew the away teams.

Ties have to be played on or before Wednesday, November 17.
