The brilliant Lindfield Bonfire Night 2021 took place on Friday evening (November 5).

Darren Lucas, chairman of Lindfield Bonfire Society, called it ‘probably the biggest and best Bonfire Night the village of Lindfield has ever seen’.

The torch-lit procession in the high street had a record number of societies and organisati­ons taking part.

The society welcomed visiting members from Barcombe, Burgess Hill, Buxted, Chailey, Eastbourne, Hailsham, Littlehamp­ton, Seaford and South Heighton Bonfire Societies, as well as Lindfield Scouts, music from Burgess Hill Marching Youth and Ryebellion Drummers.

On the common the Ryebellion Drummers entertaine­d the crowd while the bonfire was lit and the Bonfire Prayer was read out.

The evening finished with a grand fireworks display from the society’s pyro team.

The street collection was in aid of The Cleft Lip and Palate Associatio­n, Court Meadow RDA, Orchard House, Chestnut Tree House and Woodlands Meed.

Lindfield Bonfire Society thanked everyone who supported the event.

Organisati­ons include: Comber’s Trust, Cottenham’s of Lindfield, Masters and Son, Lindfield Parish Council, The Bent Arms, The Stand Up Inn, Archers Waste Management, Event Medic Services, Sussex Police, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services, The Rotary Club, Court Meadow RDA, Mid-Sussex District Council, 6-10 Traffic Management, Etc. Fire Services, MidDowns Radio, Jackson Stops, Lindfield Life, Lindfield Art Studio, Brett Hudson Art, The Lindfield Club, Richard Talman Fine Jewellery, Sarah Lacey Dry Cleaning, Trident Explorer Scouts and Aurora Fireworks.

The society also thanked the marshals, helpers, sponsors, donors and the pyro team.
