East Grinstead Town Football Club are celebrating 11 years of continued support from key local sponsor Southern Sheeting.

Following a tough pandemic for local football, which saw many clubs up and down the country struggle to survive, East Grinstead Town are delighted to renew their relationship with the building materials supplier.

Southern Sheeting, also based in East Grinstead, provides construction materials to trade and domestic customers around the UK and is one of the longest standing sponsors of the club.

Richard Tramontin, chairman of the 132-yearold West Sussex club, said: “Local football has had an extremely tough time recently, so we’re delighted that Southern Sheeting is continuing to support us.

“Like everyone else, we experienced a devastating drop in visitors and revenue as a result of the pandemic.

“In particular, Covid-19 has disrupted children’s football, which is so important to the local community.

“Now, thanks to Southern Sheeting, we have a brand new Under 8s football team wearing Southern Sheetingsponsored kit during their first season.

“Without their support, none of this would have been possible.”

Southern Sheeting’s sponsorship money will also go towards buying new football equipment and running the club, which has been bringing people together to play football since 1890.

Tony Hobbs, Managing Director of Southern Sheeting, said: “As local company, we want do our bit for the community and support the local club.

“It’s great to be able to back East Grinstead Town FC in its initiative to get boys and girls back onto the pitch, doing exercise and playing the sport they love with their friends.

““We’ve supplied building materials for major stadia redevelopments all around the country, including for Salford FC, so football is very close to our hearts.

“It gives all of us at Southern Sheeting real joy to know we’re doing our bit to bring a bit of happiness and support to Wasps fans and players.”
