International Nurses’ Day

-

Every year on May 12 we mark the contribution of the incredible nursing workforce across our region as part of International Nurses’ Day.

This day is very important to all of us as we work through challenging times.

It’s a day to say thank you and to stop for a moment to celebrate the work and achievements of nursing staff locally and around the world.

In the past year we know nursing staff have worked extremely hard to care for their patients, whether that is in hospitals, in the community or in care homes.

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact every corner of our health services, our members have shown their commitment to tackling waiting times, provide excellent care in care homes and give patients the best nursing support they can, even though staffing levels are challenging and demand has never been greater.

Providing safe and effective care to patients remains our overriding priority.

This year as part of the Nurses’ Day reflections, the Royal College of Nursing is calling on everyone to share their stories about the best of nursing.

We’d love your readers to share their own experiences of good nursing care, either received by themselves or a loved one.

Share your stories on social media or with your local newspaper.

Help us tell the story of the incredible nursing team on our special day.

If you’re using social media, please use #BestOfNursing and #NursesDay and tag us @ SouthEastRCN.

You’re also welcome to send us your messages directly to share – just email us at newbury.office@rcn.org.uk

Thank you to everyone who has shown their thanks and appreciation to the nursing team during the last year.
