Fry: Only way out for Blues is to sell stars
BARRY FRY reckons Birmingham won’t be able to avoid a massive January fire-sale of their big-name players.
Peterborough director of football Fry, who was City manager from 1993 to 1996, admitted he feared the worst for his former club.
He said: “Like many other Birmimngham fans I am very concerned about the future of the club right now.
“Nobody really knows what seems to be going on at St Andrew’s.
“All we know is that the chairman has been arrested, the £7million overdraft has been frozen and in my experience the only thing you can do is sell players.
“They will have to sell players as soon as they can to keep the bank happy.
“I can’t see any other way out. I hope I am wrong but to say I’m concerned would be an understatement.” JOEY BARTON has claimed he could sue over the red card he received for QPR against Norwich.
QPR have confirmed they will appeal to the FA against Barton’s dismissal in Monday’s 2-1 home defeat.
It is understood the FA in turn are to seek observations from the London club over critical comments from director Ruben Emir Gnanalingam.
Barton gave QPR an early lead at Loftus Road before getting involved in a tussle with Bradley Johnson and appearing to headbutt the Norwich midfielder.
