NEV WANTS TO JOIN EURO ZONE
EVERTON v BOLTON Kick-off 8pm
PHIL NEVILLE reckons another win could kick-start Everton’s unlikely bid for a European spot.
David Moyes’ men enter 2012 with their eyes fixed firmly on fifth place after beating West Brom on Sunday.
And veteran skipper Neville (right) insists Europe is a possibility if the Toffees can find their shooting boots.
He said: “Hopefully now we can kick on and challenge for a European place because that is where we want to be.
“When you play teams like West Brom and it is so tight, you’ve got to take your chances, particularly away from home.
“If you don’t take your chances, and that has probably been the story for the last year and a half, then it is a battle.”
Landon Donovan is available for selection after signing on a two-month loan deal from LA Galaxy.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle is sweating on goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
The Finnish stopper has a thigh problem and kid Adam Bogdan is set to step in.
Coyle is also worried that Manchester City could cut short Dedryck Boyata’s loan deal with Kolo Toure heading to the African Nations Cup.
“The whole agreement was for it to be a seasonlong loan and the only rider to that is that Man City have the option of recalling him this month,” said Coyle.
“At the moment they have not come to us.”
