Teen robber jailed after CCTV strut
A GUNMAN was jailed after police recognised him strutting like a gangster on CCTV.
Masked robber Joseph Nyamaswa, 18, terrorised shopkeepers by waving a pistol in their faces to demand cash.
Cardiff Crown Court heard how Nyamaswa carried out a string of raids in shops, telling one worker: “Open the till or I will shoot you.”
Detecive Sereant Esyr Jones said: “An officer recognised the way he walked and the shape of his body.
“The gunman was heavily disguised but he had his suspicions that he had dealt with whoever was behind the mask before.
“It seems it was more for the fun of it, because it’s not as if he got any financial reward.
“It was a way of trying to live the gang life that he wanted to be part of.”
Nyamaswa, of Rumney, Cardiff, was jailed for 12 years after admitting robbery and possessing a firearm.
