WEAK-WILLED Brits have been flocking to sell their exercise equipment after giving up on New Year get fit resolutions. Classified website

saw a record number of fitness gear go up for sale, peaking last month.

Figures show there was a 62 per cent month-on-month rise in the number of health-related ads, with nearly 9,500 listed in the ‘Gym Equipment for Sale’ category.

On Jan 22, 418 items were posted within a few hours.

Equipment currently listed includes 828 treadmills, 2294 weights, 494 rowing videos, 829 exercise bikes and 65 Zumba DVDS.

Hamish Stone, from the site, said: “The rise in ‘get fit’ equipment up for sale in January is a sure sign we’re not sticking to our New Year resolutions.”
