Burglar puts his foot in it
A BURGLAR who left a sock at the scene of a burglary has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.
A court heard that 28-year-old Andrew Wilson had received jail sentences totalling 16 years before his latest offences.
He left clues behind at two break-ins committed within a fortnight last year – a sock and his bike at one and a footprint at the other.
Teesside Crown Court heard that his DNA was found in the sock, and the print lifted from a windowsill matched his trainers.
Aftershave, cash and jewellery were stolen.
Wilson, of Stockton-onTees, admitted burglary to feed his drug habit.
The judge said Wilson was “...comfortable in prison, that’s the problem.”
