JOL-Y GOOD MOVE FOR MATTHEW

FULHAM full-back Matthew Briggs has joined Peterborough for a month after asking Martin Jol for a move.

The 20-year-old could extend his deal at London Road if he gets the first-team football he wanted under Cottagers boss Jol.

“I want to get games under my belt and more experience so it’s a good idea to come to Peterborough,” he said.

“It’s a month to start with, then it could be extended.”

Briggs, an England U21 international, was in the team for Europa League games early in the season but has only started one Premier League match.

He added: “I kept telling Martin Jol every day I needed to play games as I was on the bench all the time.”
