Tottenham keeper Friedel has been stunned by Parker’s performance levels since the midfielder arrived at White Hart Lane earlier in the season.

And the Yank veteran also believes fellow keeper Joe Hart could handle the captaincy.
“Joe Hart has the mentality to be a captain, but you also have got two other ready-made captains in Stevie Gerrard and Scott Parker,” said Friedel.
“Could Joe Hart do the job? Absolutely. He’s got a magnificent head on his shoulders.
“But then you have Scott Parker and Steven Gerrard, who are tremendous players. Now playing with Scott for the last six months or so, you can see that whether he’s wearing the armband or not, he’s going to be a captain.
