Vernon stunned by ‘gay’ verdict

TELLY host Vernon Kay was told by bosses he looked too GAY to be a success in the States.

Vernon ( above), 37, donned his best suit for a meeting with telly execs in the U.S.

But he was gutted when he was told it made him look like he batted for the other team.

He said: “I wore a stunning Savile Row suit for one meeting.

“I walked in, quite nervous, did the screen test and I got the gig.

“But at the end one executive told me, ‘By the way, don’t wear that suit. Everyone in middle America is going to think you’re gay’.”

Vernon revealed he didn’t listen to the producer and wore the suit anyway.

“In the end I walked on stage wearing it and nobody batted an eyelid.”

He admits he enjoyed his stint in America hosting Skating with the

Stars and wants to do more work Stateside.
