Binge drinkers too p*ssed to nick car

A PAIR of bungling drunken youths tried to steal a car to get home in, after a night out where they downed 42 PINTS.

Ian Manser, 22, and 21-year-old Carl James didn’t want to wait three hours for the next morning bus to Cullompton, Devon, after a booze-up in Exeter, 20 miles away.

So they tried to nick a motor from a car hire business on an industrial estate in Exeter.

But the men were so sloshed they fell and cut themselves on a broken window and needed hospital treatment.

The pair later sobered up in A&E before handing themselves in to police.

The two men, from Cullompton, admitted burglary and were given community orders at Exeter Magistrates’ Court.
