SEA BEAST FOUND IN TIN OF TUNA
Mum’s shock as she empties beast onto her jacket spud
A NEW mum scooped a tin of tuna onto her baked potato… and came face to face with a SEA MONSTER!
Natalie Clarke bought the tin of Princes tuna chunks from her local store but had no idea it contained a chilling denizen of the deep.
She was tucking into her spud and seafish meal when she spotted two huge eyes gawping at her.
Natalie, 29, who is a teacher currently on maternity leave, said: “As I opened the can, I was looking at it and thinking to myself, ‘how funny, those bits of pepper look like eyes’.
Eyes
“Then I realised they were eyes. “I poked it about with my fork then left it on the kitchen side for my partner to examine.
“I didn’t finish my lunch and went hungry instead. We think it might be a prawn or shrimp of some kind, but we are not really sure.
“I have complained and I sent them their little beast back.”
Natalie, from Tyler Hill near Canterbury, Kent, is a new mother and breast-feeding, so she already has to be careful about which seafoods she eats.
But she had no idea a bug-eyed sea monster would be lurking inside a can of supermarket fish.
She said: “I’m not concerned as I didn’t eat any of the creature, as far as I’m aware, but it is really important I know what I am eating as I’m breastfeeding.
“I probably wont buy any tuna for a while – and I’m not sure my friends who have seen the picture will either.”
Natalie – married to husband Will – has so far been unable to identify the creature, while Princes is investigating the matter.
The unusual find caused an immediate sensation online.
Lulu from London commented: “OMG, gross! I eat a lot of tuna, but I’ll pick through it carefully in future before putting any of it near my mouth! I once found an unidentified bit of ‘fish’ in a bag of frozen prawns once... I’m really hoping it was just a tiny, white fish, but it still made me feel a bit queasy!”
Cazzerole of Bedfordshire said: “My daughter once found a crab claw in a tin of tuna and has never touched tuna since”
