NURSE ‘GROPED BREASTS OF COLLEAGUES’
A NURSE touched his colleagues’ breasts and pestered them about their sex lives, a hearing was told.
Cyriac Chacko, 39, “inappropriately” hugged a married colleague and rubbed her stomach and brushed her breasts at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospital in Merseyside, it is claimed.
Chacko, nicknamed Jolly by colleagues, denies fondling.
Nurse Mary Jane Rubino told the Nursing and Midwifery Council: “Jolly randomly asked me about my husband and what hours he worked, to which I answered ‘days’.
“He then asked what our sex life was as he worked days and I worked nights. I was shocked and embarrassed.
On another occasion, she said Chackos began the evening by asking: “What kind of contraceptives do you use?”
She said: “I thought he was asking for advice.
“I replied ‘injection’ to which he replied: ‘I don’t use any contraceptives, I just take it out’.”
Chacko is also said accused of groping her breasts and nuzzling her neck on a number of occasions while holding her from behind.
In total Chacko denies three charges of inappropriately touching the nurses between October and December 2008.
The hearing continues.
