Lad survives sky­dive crash

A SKY­DIVER man­aged to es­cape “with­out a scratch” af­ter slam­ming into the ground at 50mph when his para­chute failed to open.

The un­named 18-year-old was air­lifted to hospi­tal af­ter the hor­ror ac­ci­dent – but was re­leased shortly af­ter­wards.

At first it was feared he could have back, leg and neck in­juries and he was taken by air am­bu­lance to hospi­tal in Glas­gow.

A spokesman for Sky­dive Strathal­lan said: “His dad phoned ear­lier and, in his own words, he doesn’t have a scratch.”

The teenager came crash­ing down af­ter a jump at Strathal­lan air­field near Perthshire, Scot­land.
