Drunk rams cops in his wheelchair

A DRUNK has dodged jail after admitting ramming police officers with his electric wheelchair.

The helpful coppers had gone to the rescue of an inebriated Kevin O’brien after the 26-year-old had fallen out of his wheelchair.

But O’brien, of Cumnock, Scotland, began swearing loudly, driving his chair at the officers, and also trying to bite them.

O’brien pleaded guilty to police assault and threatening behaviour at Ayr Sheriff Court this week following the incident at a hostel in November last year.

He escaped a custodial sentence as Sheriff Norman Mcfadyen imposed a community payback order rather than sending him to prison.
