Gourmet meal choices ease lags’ porridge
PRISON cons are feasting on seafood provencale, jerk chicken, gammon steak and moussaka, according to a Freedom of Information request.
Menus show prisoners at HMP Brixton can choose from up to FOUR different international meals at dinner time, including Shepherd’s Pie, chicken chow mein, beef vindaloo and Spanish omelette.
They can also tuck into a helping of coconut sponge, lemon cake or treacle roly-poly for their dessert.
The average cost of feeding a prisoner in Britain is now £2.20 a day – a 10 per cent increase since 2008.
The Ministry of Justice insisted all meals were created within a set.
