Cops on a roll as van escapes
A RUNAWAY police van was wrecked after it ploughed into a parked car.
The accident happened after cops were called to deal with a pub rumpus.
As officers left the van, it rolled down a hill and plunged into a black Vauxhall Corsa.
The female officer, who had been driving the van, sustained minor injuries as she tried bringing it to a stop.
No-one else was hurt in the accident which came after cops were summoned to the Weatherspoons pub in Kendal, Cumbria.
A spokesman added: “A supervising officer went to the scene and a full probe is underway.”
It’s not the first time a Cumbria Police vehicle has gone off on its own. In August 2009, a cop van rolled down Crag Brow, Bowness, and crashed into a Ford Fiesta as cops investigated an assault.
