Sheep torn to shreds by ‘hellhounds’

-

A BLOODTHIRSTY pair of “hellhounds” which ran riot and left dozens of sheep dead and injured in a midnight rampage are being hunted by cops.

Farmer Tim Jury, of Pett, near Rye, Sussex, lost nineteen sheep in the attack by two Alsatians.

Some of dead sheep were ewes expecting lambs, and a further 32 were badly injured and mutilated.

He said “This has caused deep shock. It is traumatic seeing healthy animals in the field one day, then seeing them decimated the next. It is terrible when sheep have to be destroyed.”

Neighbouring farmer Andrew Dunlop had two sheep killed and a further sixteen badly injured.

He said “It was a ferocious attack and they left a trail of carnage.

“I have been surprised by the anger and support expressed by people in the village. Dogs should be kept under control.”
