BIG BODY SQUAD CHANNEL 5, 8PM SCOFFED a few too many pancakes yesterday?

Well if your car seat was two inches lower than normal this morning, Channel 5 have just the thing to make you feel better – a documentary about very fat people.

You won’t feel half as bad about the 12 chocolate syrup-covered crepes you gorged on last night when you see these man mountains flopping around like beached whales.

The number of morbidly obese people is growing, and it is predicted that by the end of this decade more than a third of the population will be obese.

This programme introduces some of the people who look after those with excessive-weight problems, from ambulance staff and fire crews to equipment specialists, builders and care workers.

Tonight, 53st Keith returns home after a stay in hospital and it takes a team of eight people to get his massive frame through the doors, while emergency services at Southend Airport take part in a training exercise where they rescue a real-life supersize man from a simulated crash.

An interesting and scary show about the obesity epidemic.

And it’ll make you feel skinny too – pass the pancakes! BEES, BUTTERFLIES AND BLOOMS BBC2, 8PM
