Couple chop up murdered mate
A SICK couple stabbed their pal to death and kept his body in the garden shed for TWO WEEKS – while they waited for benefit money to pay for a saw to chop up his remains.
Margaret Heeley and Mark Postles stabbed former friend John Cogan in the neck after a night of drinking at their home in Leicester last March.
After a failed attempt to set fire to his body, the pair hid him in their outhouse until they could afford a saw and knives to dismember the corpse.
They then hacked off one of his arms and both his legs before burying him in their back garden.
But Heeley, 55, cracked and called police – but tried to place the blame for the murder solely on her boyfriend, 47.
They were both convicted of murder and jailed for 22 years following a twoweek trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
