THE captain of doomed cruiser Costa Concordia was about to get laid when the ship sank, says the girl who he’d been wooing for months.
Francisco Schettino – dubbed Captain Coward after he abandoned ship – had shared a first kiss with Domnica Cemortan the night of the tragedy.
And she has admitted for the first time that she was about to let him get his oats that night – until the 1,000ft boat ran aground off the coast of Italy, killing 32 people.
Domnica, 25, who’d worked on the ship as a translator but was a paying guest on the night of the tragedy, said she had a ‘crush’ on the Italian captain and would have bonked him.
She said: “He was always respectful when I was a staff member, but once I was a passenger it was different. I think we probably would have ended up in bed, but I never found out because of the crash.”
Domnica says she thinks hints she was to blame for distracting the captain and making him ‘show off ’ are unfair.
She said she’s had enough of people slagging her off. The sexy blonde said: “So much rubbish has been written about me that I think I must now defend my reputation.
“They are acting as if I’m some sort of femme fatale, but I don’t sleep around. “Yes, I was attracted to him and he was clearly interested in me. I admit that I had a big crush on him because he was very good-looking and very charming.”
Domnica, from Moldova, who trained as a ballet dancer, said her heart goes out to the people who lost their lives and their families.
She said: “I’m sorry that so many people died or were hurt that night. It was a tragic accident and people are looking to find someone to blame.”
And she said she still would love to see Captain Schettino to comfort him. She said: “It’s not that I miss him, but he was a nice man and they are making him into a kind of monster.”
