Why is it always us in the wrong?
IT was another week of tabloid newspaper-bashing on Channel 4’s 10 O’clock Live.
We gentlemen of the popular press, they reckon, are all lazy, prejudiced, sexobsessed privacy-invaders without a shred of human compassion.
In other news, Charlie Brooker said Arab women look like ninjas, Lauren Laverne sniggered at an anal sex innuendo, David Mitchell did a gag about gypsies and Jimmy Carr did one about John Terry.
Those last two were about high-profile criminal court cases. I thought they were still ongoing but I guess they can’t be – otherwise the right-on gang would be breaking the law and putting justice at risk by commenting.
And that is something only tabloid journalists do, right?
