Meet the pig in your sausage

A FARMER has started selling packets of sausages – complete with a picture of the actual pig that went into them on the front.

Customers can visit his website to look at photos of his pigs, read the latest news on each one, and then vote for the animal they want to see slaughtered.

The new concept, likely to leave animal lovers queasy, has been unveiled by sow herder Dennis Buchman.

He runs the freerange My Little Farm near Berlin and reckons meat scoffers need to reacquaint themselves with how sausages are REALLY made.

The 39-year-old said: “I think man has lost touch with his food. People eat a sausage like a carrot, without any thought about what goes into it.”

Buchman claims his initiative shows due ‘respect’ to the beasts before they’re turned into tasty breakfast fodder.
