Chris wants good Laet

CHRIS HUGHTON has launched a bid to sign Man United defender Ritchie De Laet on loan.

Birmingham boss Hughton wants Sir Alex Ferguson to do him a favour by lending him 23-year-old De Laet.

The Belgium international has recently returned from a back injury that cut short his loan spell at Norwich last year.

And Hughton is targeting the full-back for a switch to St Andrew’s after Stephen Carr’s persistent knee problem.

Blues signed Andros Townsend and Erik Huseklepp last week.
