Innocent man called ‘nonce’

A DAD of two has been hounded by strangers who mistook him for a paedophile and shouted: “That’s the nonce.”

Terry Edwards shares the name of a child abuser 16 years his senior and his appearance bears a vague similiarity.

However, the 26-year-old has committed no crime and was appalled by his namesake’s sick attack, in which he had sex with a 14-year-old girl.

As the real paedophile serves a four year jail term, innocent Mr Edwards has been punched in the face, had his car set on fire and has been tormented with shouts of “that’s the nonce” and “paedo”.

Convicted paedophile Terry Edwards, 42, of Snodland, Kent, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court.

His namesake, from East Malling, said: “What that man did is disgusting.”
