Lap­dancer fake cash man jailed

A CON­MAN has been jailed af­ter us­ing coun­ter­feit £20 notes to pay for a se­ries of lap­dances.

Michael An­drews, 21, was caught af­ter hand­ing over £120 in fake twen­ties to un­sus­pect­ing dancers.

He was snared af­ter sus­pi­cions were raised among staff at Wig­gle in Portsmouth, Hants, who checked some notes.

An­drews and a friend had left the venue, but re­turned later – by which time cops had been called.

Po­lice looked at CCTV show­ing An­drews us­ing three fake £20 notes to pay a lap­dancer in Novem­ber last year.

An­drews, of nearby Ha­vant, Hants, pleaded guilty to five counts of pass­ing coun­ter­feit notes at Portsmouth Crown Court.

He was jailed for 12 months and or­dered to pay £160 in com­pen­sa­tion to his three vic­tims.
