Apocalypse, now – Run!

A MOBILE phone app that motivates people to run by casting them in a make-believe zombie apocalypse has become a top seller.

Those who play Zombies Run! take on the role of a survivor in a world where they’re constantly pursued by flaky-skinned monsters.

Coaxed on by the game’s audio script, players are tasked with gathering supplies, which involves them having to run around frantically.

In the two weeks since its release, it’s become the world’s highest grossing health and fitness app, beating those created by sports giants like Nike.

It has been created and developed by Brits Adrian Hon, head of games studio, Six to Start, and Naomi Alderman, a prize-winning novelist and game-writer.

Sales should break the 100,000 barrier soon.
