Six jailed after knife fight ruins kids’ party
A KIDS’ birthday party descended into a bloody brawl where three men were stabbed.
The fight was so violent fleeing thugs left a trail of blood for police to follow.
Six men have now been caged for the melee sparked by a family feud in a garden where tots were playing in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
A five-year-old boy was showered with glass when the six drunken thugs ran into the garden from the street, a court heard.
The ringleader – 20-year-old Brendon Roberts – organised the house raid on March 20 last year to settle an argument with his sister’s ex-boyfriend.
Roberts had been drinking in a pub with his brother and four friends before the attack, the court heard.
The men took a taxi to find the ex-boyfriend who defended himself with a knife.
Roberts, from Sale, Cheshire, was locked up for 12 months in a young offenders’ institution.
Five other men were jailed for eight months.
Judge Robert Atherton said: “You all seem to think that the way to deal with matters is to be violent.
“If you think that, and carry it out, you are going to prison.”
