FIFA re­ject fix­ing claim

FIFA have re­futed claims made by one of their for­mer cor­rup­tion ex­perts that they are in­ves­ti­gat­ing match-fix­ing al­le­ga­tions at the 2010 World Cup.

Chris Eaton, a for­mer head of se­cu­rity with FIFA, told Chan­nel 4 the or­gan­i­sa­tion were look­ing into a spe­cific in­ci­dent in the clash be­tween Nige­ria and Greece.

How­ever, a FIFA spokesper­son said: “We are not con­duct­ing any match fix­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion for 2010 FIFA World Cup.”

Eaton al­leged his for­mer em­ploy­ers were still look­ing at sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­ity at the game.
