Bri­tain’s big­gest teen thief caged

BRI­TAIN’S most pro­lific teenage thief, who has com­mit­ted 521 bur­glar­ies and thefts since the age of 12, has been jailed.

Adam Cramp­ton, 19, said he wanted to “wipe the slate clean” when he was pre­vi­ously jailed in March for four years, af­ter ad­mit­ting 184 of­fences in­clud­ing bur­glary and thefts from cars.

Cramp­ton, of no fixed ad­dress, pleaded guilty to a fur­ther three counts of bur­glary of a dwelling in Oc­to­ber and asked for an­other 335 of­fences to be taken into con­sid­er­a­tion.

He asked that 278 bur­glar­ies of dwellings and 60 of­fences of tak­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle also be taken into ac­count when he was sen­tenced to five years in jail, at Le­ices­ter Crown Court.
