SICK THIEF IRONED VICTIM’S SCROTUM Tourist is lured back to girl’s flat and tortured

- By LAUREN BROWN

A BRUNETTE who humiliated and tortured a holidaymaker with a red-hot iron during a ‘honey-trap’ robbery sobbed as she was jailed for six-and-a-half years yesterday.

Sharon Lyndsay, 31, lured Philip Sheehy back to a seaside flat, pulled down his trousers and underwear and then scalded his BOLLOCKS with the iron as he begged for mercy.

Lyndsay then rifled his pockets and stole £180 as 41-year old Sheehy lay on the floor in agony.

She also used a lit cigarette to burn his face and eye during the attack.

Doctors who examined the victim discovered he had suffered severe burns around his testicles and had thigh burns marks spanning 10cm.

He now refuses to wear shorts due to the scarring on his legs and feels “ashamed” of the burns.

Preston Crown Court was told the attack occurred on May 15 after Lyndsay and a friend, Adam Marsden, met Sheehy in a pub in Blackpool.

The victim, from Rochdale, was on holiday in the resort and he was drunk when he began chatting with Lyndsay and agreed to go to Marsden’s home.

Once inside, Marsden, 27, rammed a pen into the victim’s ear and jumped on him before Lyndsay carried out a “sustained attack.”

Prosecutor Keith Harrison said: “For no good reason Marsden attacked him by punching him in the head causing him to fall back to the bed. Marsden climbed on top of him and rammed a pen in his ear. Lyndsay then pulled down his trousers and boxer shorts and used a cigarette to burn his face and eye.

“She got an iron and burned each thigh as he was screaming for mercy. She stopped and then apologised and he was allowed out of the flat.”

The victim returned to where he was staying and his mother was called. She was shocked by his injuries and called police.

Cops found two irons in the flat – one which still had Sheehy’s skin on it.

Lyndsay later claimed the victim had touched her legs and she rejected his advances but Sheehy denied any inapropriate behaviour.

Scarring

A victim impact statement from Sheehy, who has epilepsy, said: “He is concerned about the scarring to his legs and he doesn’t wear shorts as he now feels insecure and ashamed.

“He complains about the pain he suffered and had significant problems with sleeping and because of the trauma his epilepsy worsened.”

Lyndsay of Tyrone Avenue, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodly harm and former fairground worker Marsden admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was jailed for 23 months.

Judge Anthony Russell QC told Lyndsay: “This was a thoroughly and nasty example of bullying and humiliation on a vulnerable victim.”
